Trapiche Don Carmen
Visit this traditional sugarcane mill where one can see the unique process of producing sugar cane juice done for hundreds of years. You can also buy sugar snacks and drinks made on site from sugarcane. Delicious and unique!

This project is an inspiration from a local family at Rancho Quemado. Mr. Don Carmen build the traditional sugar mill and taught his family all about it. Johnny who is the son in law leads the activity.
During the experience, you will participate from the beginning to the end of the process, including cutting sugarcane, working the mill, heating/cooling the juice, and most importantly, drinking the delicious juice and helping make snacks from sugarcane.
Doña Noemi is known as one of the best cooks in the area and delights us all by making different dishes, she loves to share. Locals say that the best tamales are those from Doña Noemi!.
Things to bring: Insect repellent, sunblock, long sleeves, tennis shoes, hat or cap, handkerchief, camera, reusable water bottle.
